    Hello,

I believe you are carrying Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.671.

Could you please follow the steps below:

    1) Run a Repair of Symantec Endpoint Protection Client

    OR

    2) Install the latest SEP 12.1 RU1 client on the client machine.

    Also, check this similar threads:

I've seen two of these incidents on W7 64bit machines. Both of them happened when the computer was booted off of the network. Once the computer was connected to the corporate LAN via direct or vpn, we right clicked the Symantec shield and selected the option to update the policy. Once that was completed the desktop dashboard reported the computer as being protected.

    Hi,

Check network activity and connectivity to other other pcs. may be it will not communicate. if so you need to remove and reinstall the SEP client. Also disable windows firewall.

If you cant uninstall use "cleanwipe" tool. U can use following link to download "cleanwipe"

    http://gluek.info/wiki/en/software/symantec-cleanwipe

    Thanks.

    In your case

    Hello,

It seems this issue is happening only on 1 machine, correct.

In your, case it clearly indicates that the SEP client is not installed properly or the installation is Corrupt.

If we check the SEP clearly,

Download Insight Failure is caused because Proactive Threat Protection is not working properly, Proactive Threat Protection is not working properly because File System Protection is not working properly. All these Features are Inter-related.

    Check this Article: http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO55268

Again, what happens if you move the cursor from 9 to 5 in the Download Insight Policies??

Also to note that the SEP client system must be rebooted after installation to completely activate all components.

Or you may stop the SMC service by the command "smc -stop" followed by starting the service again with "smc -start".

    your problem will be resolve
