    Hello everybody.

In monitors tab of SEP Manager, you can create log reports about computer status. I need a computer status log about virus definitions of the clients.

I found the way to create the report and then export it to csv file but i want this procedure to take place everyday automatically.

Is there a way to achieve that?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello,

    Not Automatically.

The report format which is helpful in a graphical view is mht type.its by design

If you change to csv, or xls. it will not display correrctly.

However, for exporting computer status under monitors - logs with csv format

Making a report in Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager that will show client names, IP address, and Client Versions.

    Hello Mithun Sanghavi

Thanks a lot for the information. These info are very helpful.

The situation is the following: The customer wants to be informed everyday day about the status of sep clients (specifically for the virus definitions) automatically.

Are you sure that there is not a way to automatically create and save a specific report as csv? That is what i need. Please give me a clear answer.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello,

When the Log reports are Exported Manually, they are Exported in .csv Format.

    Check the Screeshot below:

However, the Reports (Scheduled / Quick) send via email are in .mht format only.

Again, There is no way to automatically create and save a specific report in .csv format.

    Hello,

There is no way to automatically create and save a specific report in .csv format either via SEPM or Protection Center.

    Hope that answers!

Sorry for being so annoying but is there a possibility to automate it via a batch file or any other procedure which has nothing to do with SEP Manager of SPC?

This is what customer asks that's why i am examing all the scenarios.

    Best Regards,

    Hello,

Yes, there is a Possibility with a script.

    Did you check this article:

    https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/articles/trick-export-customized-reports-symantec-endpoint

Again, you would also require the Database Schema for the same:

Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 Database Schema

    https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/downloads/database-schema-guide-sep-11-ru-7-mp1

    Hello,

    Check this:

    Exporting log data

You have several choices for exporting the data in your logs. You can export the data in some logs to a comma-delimited text file. You can export other logs' data to a tab-delimited text file that is called a dump file or to a Syslog server. Log data export is useful if you want to accumulate all logs from your entire network in a centralized location. Log data export is also useful if you want to use a third-party program such as a spreadsheet to organize or manipulate the data. You also might want to export the data in your logs before you delete log records.

When you export log data to a Syslog server, you must configure the Syslog server to receive those logs. To forward logs to third-party programs, you need to have the third-party program installed and on the network. For example, you can use Microsoft Excel to open the exported log files. Each field appears in a separate column, a separate log record in each line.

    Note:
You cannot restore the database by using exported log data.

Exporting data to a Syslog server

Exporting log data to a text file

About logged events from your network

    Hope this helps!!

    Thanks for the info.

I have read that but it is not about an automated report. I want to cover the following:

everyday, at a specific time, SEP Manager or SPC must export a csv/txt file with the information needed. The trick you mentioned is about changing the info, not automate exporting.

    Best Regards,

Thanks for that info but this is not an automate procedure. I want SEP manager or SPC to export reports by its own, without customer's manual guidance.

    Is this possible?
