  • 1.  EMC Celerra and Scan Engines running on RedHat

We have large implementation of Symantec Antivirus for Sharepoint Servers with farm of scan engines running on RedHat.

Now we want to use the same scan engine farm for AV scanning of NAS EMC Celerra (through CAVA).

Is it possible to implement AV scanning of EMC Celerra (through CAVA) when all my scan engines are running on RedHat?

Or do I have to redeploy the scanengines to Windows platform?

    Thanks for info.

This is something you may want to check with EMC as CAVA is their connector to the Scan Engine. I know in the cases I have had with CAVA, CAVA and the Scan Engine were installed on the same machine and had to be installed in a particular order.

But EMC would be able to tell you how to configure CAVA to communicate with a Scan Engine on a linux machine if it is possible.

I have only ever seen CAVA running on Windows. As Ben said, you should check with EMC for a Linux version. Since CAVA communicates with us using ICAP it should not be an issue as far as we are concerned.

Please note that CAVA 64-bit will not work with our product since Scan Engine is a 32-bit application.
