I need to configure email alerts for each of our domains in the SEPM. I want the From address to reflect each domain. Our domain names don't end in standard .com or .org's. When I set the Sender address to our domain name I get the error Enter a valid email address. Is there a hot fix for this or is there a line I can add to conf.properties to prevent this error?
Thanks,
Bobby
What version of SEP is this for?
What are you trying to set it to? or what after the @
I'm able to add any <dot> extension and it takes it
12.1.1000.157
Running on Windows Server 2008 R2
noreply@name.internal
I saw in another thread that it was an issue with the regional settings of the server itself. I've already checked that. It's set to United States.
In yet another thread the person stated that they changed the email address of the admin and then it took it. I tried that too but when I use noreply@name.internal for the email address I get the same error message.
Yep, error here when trying it.
There seems to be a character limit
If I enter noreply@inte than it works fine but if I add more characters than it does not take.
Seems 4 characters is the max after the <dot>
Thanks for confirming Brian. Is there a way I can put this in as a suggestion for Symantec to change? I can't be the first person to have this issue.
You can create an IDEA for it so it can be voted on and hopefully included in a future release

Just throwing in a "thumbs up." Email alerts can be an absolute lifesaver in detecting infections and enabling the admin to take swift action to prevent a widespread outbreak.
