    Hi fellows,

I need to know how to take backup of DLP policies, incidents and other configurations. I know that DLP stores most of the information in Oracle DB but need to confirm if all those information are kept in DB?

    Regards

Yes, all the configuration and all the incidents are stored in the Oracle DB.

If you want to only backup the incidents, you can use Web Archive.

If you want to only backup the policies, you can export the policies into XML files.

Well, that's mostly true... There are configuration files you'll want to backup if you've made changes to them. They will be in the Vontu/Protect/config directory. In fact, I would just make a copy of that directory. You'll also want to get the cryptokey backed up as well or you won't be able to get into the database again. I would refer to the backup guide as they have a good list of everything there.

    Atif,

The guide is located in Symantec_DLP_11.5_Docs_Win-IN.zip which you can find in your File Connect site. The version may be slightly different depending on the version you have available. Within that zip, look for the file called, Symantec_DLP_11.5_System_Maintenance_Guide.pdf. That has all the info you should need for backup and recovery.
