    • Accurate identification and inventory of authorized and unauthorized devices helps forecast current and future hardware and software needs.
    • Zero-touch imaging and migration to automate new system rollouts and technology refresh cycles.
    • Comprehensive software management simplifies ongoing software maintenance by combining software packaging, software delivery, application virtualization, patch management and application usage.
    • Integrated troubleshooting tools, such as remote control and out-of-band management, reduce the time and cost associated with help desk activities.

    Key Benefits

    • Implement a single management framework for distributed, heterogeneous client environments
    • Manage change with confidence by driving predictable and repeatable day-to-day operations
    • Make smarter, faster decisions based on real-time, data-driven conclusions

    Hello Sachin,

The difference is that client management suite focuses on clients (laptops, desktops) hence the name client management suite and that server management suite focuses on servers hence the name server management suite. The IT Management suite is an overall suite where you choose if the license you are going to use is for a client or a server. ITMS contains CMS, SMS & AMS. ServiceDesk & Wise Package Studio (WPS is EOL) are NOT included (anymore) in ITMS.

The best way to get an answer to this question are from the Data Sheets of these Suites on their respective product pages:

Data Sheets for both include a list of capabilities, essentially listing the included solutions. The differences between these are driven by the aim of the Suite - SMS is more server oriented, while CMS is oriented to management of client machines.

    Both Suites contain these solutions:

    • Deployment
    • Inventory
    • Software Management
    • Patch Management
    • Real-Time Management
    • IT Analytics
    • Process Automation (this actually means Workflow)

In addition to the ones listed above, SMS contains:

    • Virtual Machine Management
    • Monitor

CMS does not include these two solutions that are in SMS, but has these:

    • Application Virtualization
    • pcAnywhere Remote Control
    • Out of Band Management
    • Symantec Endpoint Protection Integration

This is the big picture at solution level, there may be smaller differences. For example, if I remember correctly, SMS includes the Inventory Pack for Servers.
