Hi ,

After upgrading from 11.0.xx to 12.1 / Adding packages to client groups, Every client is asking to restart the system to upgrade the version. The end user facing some issue if he not oberserve the Symantec pop-up.and some users are losting the data which are from unsaved open files.

I don't want to restart the system after upgradation . For that purpose , can i change any settings in console before adding the packages.

It completely depends upon install package settings.

Create new custom package by selecting reboot options which are suitable for you.

In SEP 12.1 you have good control over the client reboot if we compared to SEP 11.x

Screenshot is attached for your reference.

open sepm console---> admin ---> install packages---> click on client install settings---> under schedule reboot option change the settings.

After SEPM upgradation,I Have to add those custom packages to the clients or i have to push the entire package from the console to each client...?

I am doing up-gradation from 11.0.xx to 12.1 like

• Taking backup
• Running 12.1 setup
• after completion of setup, ading install packages to the each clients. Then the clients taking new install packages .
• After the client complete download install package , It is Asking Restart the client system .

I want to disable the restart option for the client machine........... How can I do those changes to disable restart the client...?

Thanks for the discription.

Here, before you add the Install Packages, you would have to create seperate custom packages which would not ask you machines to restart.

Maybe there are m issing patches in your Operating System. Try to run the DownadupRemoval Tool to get the list of the missing patches and then try to install all the missing. After the installation, try to reboot the client. If the problem still persist, try to upgrade your Operating System,
