I am new here. I am not sure if this is the right place.

I have few queries.

When you use the Client Deployment Wizard from the SEPM to push out SEP client installs, how many parallel deployments occur at once? For example, if you are pushing out 100 clients, does the CDW perform the file copy to all 100 clients at the exact same time in parallel, or does it push out some fixed amount in parallel, say 10, then copy out 10 more until all 100 are deployed?

Is there any theoretical and/or practical limits to how many clients a customer should push out in one deployment?

It depends. But here is what I've seen.

Assuming your SEPM is installed on Windows Server, the number of pushes to clients will be unlimited because server does not have a limit on the number of connections that can be opened. So if you select 100 clients, it will push 100 at the same time.

If you installed your SEPM on XP, the limit of concurrent connections is 10, so if you want to push to 100 clients, it can only do 10 at a time.

The amount of clients you want to push to will depend on how big your pipe is. If you have a slower line, I would suggest limiting the amount of clients you push to at the same time.

It is 10 parallel deployments by default.

No there should not be any limit.  SEPM will just send out a few at a time until all clients have the new package.  Just keep in mind that the more you send the longer it will take.  If it takes too long some of the users may shutdown their computer before the package gets pushed to them.
