  • 1.  CIFS blocked by SEPM 11.0.6A on Win7 64BIT EE

    Posted Jun 15, 2010 10:15 AM

Server is 2003 running SEPM 11.6A, antivirus only..  I try copying files in explorer from Win7 to it and often they just sit there and never start.

Win7 has 11.6A full product.   If I disable the antivirus on the server, the problem does not go away.

As soon as I do a smc -stop on my PC, the files transfer and complete.  Even if they have been sitting at 0% for hours.

I have tried disabling network scanning on both ends, which does not resolve the problem.

Win7 PC has embeddedIntel NIC.  I am using the latest INTEL drivers provided by HP.

Any ideas how to address this?

on your win7 ( which has full product installed)
you need to enable the file and printer sharing..

    if you client is managed;
    open sepm
    policies
    firewall policy
    select network service
    select network neightboorhood and browsing
    make the rule on top
apply it to your win7 group

I have the rule to block local file sharing disabled.  There is a rule which allows all IP traffic locally.   Though I do not have allow UDP to netbios.

However, I am trying your suggestion.  I will post back the results.

My post got deleted..?   Anyway, log post shorter - that was it.  Much much better file sharing now.  Much faster, not seeing the lockups.

    Thanks!

Well, it still happens from time to time - however not nearly as frequently.
