  • 1.  Change SEPM Hostname

    Posted Nov 21, 2011 11:21 AM

I need to change the hostname of our SEPM server to comply with new naming conventions on the network (IP address will remain unchanged).

I could not find a KB article that was more for just a simple hostname change.  I did find those that addressed moving to another server with different name/ip...

Is it as simple as just changing the hostname and rebooting the server?

Running SEPM ver 12.1.671.4971 on Server2008R2...80 clients.

How to change the host name of the servers running Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager with a replication partner?

    Hi,

No worries you can change the host-name of your server machine.

Reboot the server once you change the host-name and run the Management Server Configuration Wizard.

To run Management Server Configuration Wizard Go to Start-->All Programs-->Syamntec Endpoint Protection Manager-->Syamntec Endpoint Protection Manager Tools-->Clcik on Management Server Configuration Wizard.

    Hi,

There is possibility that clients may loose connectivity after changing host-name of SEPM

Don't forget to take a backup before doing any changes.
