Can't change default signature

    I've recently transferred my Touchdown installation to a new Android phone. Everything works fine but I can't change or get rid of the default email signature "Sent from my Android phone using TouchDown (www.nitrodesk.com)"

    In Settings/Advanced/Signatures I don't have any signature at all.  Even if I put something there I still only get the default one in my outgoing mail.

    Please help.

    Hi,

     

    Have you applied your license to the program yet? Until that is done, the signature cannot be edited. Let me know. Thanks!

    I had to create a new account because the forum software wouldn't accept my password or send me a new one even though it claimed it did.

    Anyway... yes it's licensed.   I recently moved to a new phone, if that makes any difference, and I didn't have this problem before.  Thank you.

    Can you give me a step by step of what you are doing to set the signature and where the entry is being made?

    I go into Settings / Advanced Settings / Signatures

    Both "HTML Signature" and "Text Signature" fields are empty.

    When I write an email the default is a marked "Singature" checkbox, which produces the signature from my first post.  I can put anything I like in the HTML Signature or Text Signature fields but it doesn't change anything, I still get the default signature. 

    I've had Touchdown on this phone for at least 6 months.

    When you enter someting into HTML signature and save does that show up as the signature when you send?

    No it doesn't.  I enter something, click ok.  If I go back in all the text I entered is gone and it's blank again.

    1) Open the "TouchDown Pro License" app one time. 

    2) After changing the signature, you may need to manually select "Save" at the bottom of the Advanced settings menu.

    NOTE: If you are using 8.5.00040 (beta), you need to go to into "Legacy Settings Screen" as the new Signature Settings is broken (known beta bug).

    I did both #1 and #2.  I did this before but did it again to be sure. It made no difference.

    I'm running TouchDown HD 8.4.00086

    opmetal2, did they ever respond to you?  I'm having the exact same issue since i changed devices.  Were you ever able to fix the signature issue?

    Unfortunately none of the suggested fixes did anything.

     

    For every email I write I have to uncheck the "Signature" checkbox, which is all I could figure out to prevent the default signature.

    Same problem here - cant find a way to create personal sig for e-mail..  Annoying....

    I found it.  I have an LG.  I think its the same with other android devices.  On he phone in lower left or right is an icon that looks like 2 pieces of paper.  Press and hold and you'll get a pop up with setting as an option.  here is where you can change sig in advanced !!

    Try emailing the signature code to yourself as an attachment and then, once you download the attachment, long press and select "Set as Signature"

    Hi,

    I do have a similar problem: I have a licence. Signature is filled on html and text. If I check on Singature on E-Mail send, the singature is not included.

    TD Version is 8.5.00094

    Android Version is 5.0.2

    Hello,

    In Touchdown, go to Settings>advanced>legacy setting screen>advanced>signature. In the HTML section, set the signature you like and then Save. Please try testing a send and see if the signature works for you now. Thanks!

    The option to send yourself the signature as an attachment also works as well. You can set either way.

    Hi,

     

    th problem still occurs, but only when I use digitally signed mails (via S/MIME). In not digitally signed mail or even encrypted mails everything runs fine.

    I have 8.5.00094 Licensed, but can't even find the Settings screen to change my signature -- it's nowhere to be found.  I'm running Android 4.4.2.  There is no menu, nothing.  I'm not a novice, just completely stumped

    In the Touchdown app, go into SETTINGS, scroll down to click on ADVANCED;in the Advanced screen you'll see SIGNATURES. 

    If that doesn't work, you can go to SETTINGS- ADVANCED- LEGACY SETTINGS SCREEN; and then on the Advanced tab you scroll down to the tab for Signatures.

    UPDATE

    I was able to resolve by finding the Settings Menu by pressing and holding the multitasking key on my S5 until the menu popped up.  Once that occurred, I chose Settings / Advanced Settings / Signatures where I was able to delete the default signature and enter a new HTML signature.

    Viola!

    Thanks sitecer -- holding down the multitasking button was the breakthrough I needed.
