I have received an e-mail about secutiry update of SEPM to 12.1.4013.4013.

- If updated to 12.1.4, can it manage SEP 12.1.2015.2015 / 12.1.3001.165 ??

Yes SEP 12.1.4 can be manage other sep client version.

HI yes a new SEP manager can manage all older SEP clients but you can't replicate between SEPM's unless they are both on the same version.

I'd recommend upgrading to 12.1 RU4a (version 12.1.4023.4080) as this is the latest patched version 

Of course there's backward compatibility between SEPM and SEP clients.

For this update, do I just setup SEPM is ok ?? Any backup / procedure need ??

Yes, make sure to take a backup before doing the upgrade. Please see this document as it contains all the info you need to upgrade:

Yes it will support the older 12x versions.

Yes the upgraded SEPM will be manage all older version clients.

Before upgrade you need to backup of your SEPM Database.

Thumsup for above post. Latest version always manage older version of sep.

Agree with all above comments. Old version of SEP clients are managable by 12.1.4.

I suggest you that you can upgrade your SEPM with 12.1.4023.4080 (RU4a) because there is a vulnerabilities which is fixed in 12.1.4 (RU4a)

Yes SEP 12.1.4 can manage clients lower than its version, but its always recommended to on the same version as of SEPM as it has many fixes.

New version 12.1.4 MP1 now available from fileconnect with supported upgrade paths from all versions. Direct upgrade from any version.
