  • 1.  After repair to the SEPM, the clients wont connect to the server

    I had to run a repair on the SEPM console. MR4 SP1

    Since then my client wont connect to the server.
    I did the OK test line and they connect to the server ok.

    Not sure what to do??

    How did you repair the SEPM console?

    Does this mean that you do not see the green dot on the client?

    If you have only a few clients you can use the tool Sylinkdrop to distribute the sylink.xml file that resides on the server to the clients.

    If you have many you might want to do a script. Please also read this information regarding best practice for disaster recovery.

    did you recover server certificate after repair?

    Hi

    If your server is upgrade from MR2 and beyond then your symantec site should be still in port 80, if you repair an installation it will blindly change IIS port to 8014 and it will cause disconnection from your clients, just change IIS port (you need to change configuration file as well) and you'll be fine.

    use Sylinkdrop tool properly and check the green dots of the client computers.

    The initial release of MR4 MP1 was pulled from distribution after a short time in the field so make sure you are using the revised release - MR4 MP1a.

    Import the sylink.xml file from the antivirus server to the client. Restart the client to check the status.

    Yes Sylink.xml is the right solution.
