  • 1.  Adding licences to SEP 12 Console

    Posted Jul 12, 2013 08:32 AM

About a week ago, I added new licences to SEP 12 console.

This morning I get notification that the old licences are going to expire.

I thought that by adding new licences, the old licences are automatically replaced, and we don't get such notification that licence will expire.

    How to fix this?

You can go into Admin >> Licensing and remove the old licenses once they expire. This needs to be done manually and will not be auto removed.

    Hello,

I would suggest you to delete all the Expired licenses from the SEP Manager and then insert the Latest License which has been received.

You could also try inserting the license number and try registring them again..

the old license have avalidity of specific period, if it is going to expire it will show an alert on console.

you need to remove the old one and replace with new one.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

I would be glad to answer your query.

You were under wrong assumption. This is how it work, mentioned below.

When your current license is about to expire, the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) begins sending license expiration notifications to the Symantec Endpoint Protection administrator. Symantec highly recommends that you renew your license before it expires.

When you renew a license, the expired license is removed and is replaced with a new license. To purchase renewal licenses.
