  • 1.  70% memory utlization normal?

    Posted May 23, 2012 10:49 PM

    Hi All,

Im just wondering if its normal to have 70% memory utilization on my server based on the following setup:

    4gb RAM

    2000 clients in pull mode.

    30mins heartbeat interval.

    1hr randomization.

would appreciate some advise as if this is normal i would need to request for a memory upgrade as im expecting more clients coming.

    thanks in advance!!

    Hello,

Could you please let us know -

    1) What version of SEP are you using?

    2) What Server OS are you running the SEPM on?

    3) What other roles is this server carrying other than being a SEPM server?

I would recommend you to check this Document -

Symantec Endpoint Protection Sizing and Scalability Best Practices White Paper

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC4448

    Hope that helps!!

I agree with Homer Simpson, it would be interesting to know which process is using such amount of memory.

It would be also interesting to know when you have this problem (during a scan? when a new definition is received? everytime?).
