Back when all the confusion hit in January with the SEP Y2K10 bug...I felt a personal need to know what the JDB file name referenced with regard to definition version. Because of this I wrote a quick utility to decode the file name into the date of the actual set of definitions. I hope someone finds it useful. -Mike Usage: It can be used two ways...the first is you just double click the utility and select the definition package to decode and click open. Because I came from a Macintosh background, I'm also a big fan of Drag and Drop applications, so yes, you can grab a JDB, VDB or XDB and drop one on top of the utility and it will display the decoded version. See screenshot. The utility was developed with information in this Symantec KB article: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/docid/2002081510030748
Just found this ... this is awesome!
