Here is an utility to capture screenshot in Windows PE environment and save it in jpg format. It also supports command line parameter and can be used for automation. Plz share your views/ideas.
Oh, well… Better late than never, isn't it? ;-)

I've just logged in to vote you up and say Thank You! :-)
Thanks rburtcher,
Sorry for the delay in reply. Definately i will try to get Snap-Pe as many features as possible.
- Hide snap-pe window- its difficult for me to develop
- Automatically generate name - yes, can provide option of appending timestamp.
- KeyCombo - Already present.
Also it support command line parameters, you can use it in scripts.
i will work on timestamp-filename option. this will be there soon :).

arjain,
Seems to be up and working like a charm now! Thanks for creating Snap-PE, it's an awesome, simple way for our workstation support specialists to easily take a screenshot from within WinPE and send it to us when troubleshooting problems with the imaging process.
If you decide to add any more features to it, I'd love to see Snap-PE have the ability to hide it's own window when taking screenshots, as well as an option for automatically generated filenames from the GUI similar to the way Lightscreen does it, such as screenshot.(number).jpg or screenshot.(date&time).jpg, etc. Perhaps also a way to customize the key combo to take the screenshot too. Even without these additional features though, Snap-PE is still a great tool!
Thanks rburtcher, for bringing that up and using Snap-pe. i was not aware that settings were messed up. thanks again for informing.
please try now, if you are still not able to access, i will email the utility.
This is a great tool, and I was able to download the x64 version a couple of weeks ago... But now I am unable to download either one. I get a message from Google Sites that says "You need permission. Want in? Ask the owner for access, or switch to an account with permission."
Is Snap-PE hosted anywhere else by chance? Google searches have turned up empty.
Good one!!
The latest version of Snap-Pe are available at www.sqamanual.com
It now supports JPG as well as PNG
Download it from below locations
Glad for the feedback, will definately incorporate the change.
Would be nice, if Snap-PE could support PNG format for saving the screenshots. Currently it only supports JPG, which is not ideal for creating screenshots.
The new location of Snap-pe is http://www.sqamanual.com/home/mainnav/downloads
Yes, its a free tool, you can easily re-distribute it.
For latest version keep checking http://www.syspanacea.com/Download.aspx
Will be releasing a few more utils for Win PE, probably by last week of March.
Sheetal,
If I'm wanting to include this in my WinPE CD, then should I just copy the exe to my windows/system32 and point a shortcut from the start menu?
i have checked with Symantec Antivirus and Microsoft Security Essentials, Snap-Pe is not detected as virus.
Saeed, which antivirus are you using on your machine.
Snap-Pe is developed using Auto It. Its a free code and available on request. Some antivirus detects as scripts as virus, pl refer the below link from Auto it forums. http://www.autoitscript.com/forum/topic/110943-detected-as-virus/
