Drivers for INTEL- 82577LM & 82578DM

Jun 22, 2010 12:52 PM

The Ghost Solution Suite  requires the Windows Vista drivers for use in the Windows PE boot environment. The downloads from the Intel site, in addition to being difficult to locate, have incorrect instructions for extracting them without installing them in the ReadMe file. I have extracted these and created simple .ZIP files of these drivers. They may be added to the Ghost Boot Wizard according to these directions:

How to add drivers to DeployAnywhere or WinPE

Add the WIN32 folder inside the PRO1000 folder.
Make sure you select the applicable OS as VISTA and not as WIN 7 or XP.

Thanks

After extracting the files from the zip up above, browse to here:  Drivers for Intel 825677LM & 82578DM\PRO1000\Win32\NDIS61\e1k6032

Point your Ghost boot Wizard here and add these files using the process outlined here:

http://service1.symantec.com/support/on-technology.nsf/854fa02b4f5013678825731a007d06af/e4c1aea6046866e288257444007f9333?OpenDocument

Everything then booted up properly and I was able to dump my Win 7 64 bit image our to ghost.  I also had to change the Virtual Partition PreOS to the new Virtual Partition PreOS that I created.  This is under the machine name under the Client Tab.  This worked for me on the first try.

This card has a frame size limitation of 4k. Will that pose a problem when uploading or downloading.?

Thanks

Thanks so much for putting this info out there. I reloaded my GSS from scratch to fix PE corruption and added the "VISTA" (KEY,VERY KEY)drivers you provided. Dell 980 successfully ghosted. You saved me.
