Dennis Technology Labs recently released an unsponsored test comparing the accuracy of Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP 12.1); Kaspersky Endpoint Security' McAfee VirusScan, HIPs & SiteAdvisor; Trend Micro OfficeScan and Intrusion Defense Firewall and Microsoft System Center Endpoint Protection.
Dennis Technology Labs tests are one of the few that reflect the real-world capability of security products. Dennis Labs tests are carried out by exposing machines to live Internet threats (as opposed to all known threats) giving results that would most accurately reflect a true customer experience.
The impressive results of SEP give a clear indication to everyone of which product will best protect them in day-to-day use. It also validates Symantec's move to layered protection, with multiple security technologies like Insight, SONAR and Network Threat protection being critical to achieving real-world protection from today's in-the-wild threats.
