Who am I? I’ve worked in the IT industry for over 15 years. I’ve been in the trenches and made many observations as well as kept up with the industry trends. I have an iPhone in my pocket and a corporate laptop in my backpack. Several positions in my career including my most recent were with small companies, so I sympathize with the experiences you are going through.
The last place I worked, there was just five of us. I had to convince them to get a small server because they were running QuickBooks off the owner’s laptop. Small businesses are a unique animal and supporting them takes patients, time, and a lot of talent.
