We have the same issue on our new win 10 machines installed with network install (MS Deployment toolkit)

we know the workaround is to uninstall SEP, install the teefer driver on the nic, and reinstall symantec

We also noticed that when we install the teefer driver before SEP it works fine, so in our deployment script I want to install the teefer driver before sep gets installed but cannot find a way to script installation of the driver...

anyone know a script that will do that?

  • Uninstall SEP if you have it installed

  • Reinstall as Administrator.

    • Right Click - Run As Administrator.

  • Fixed the issue for us.

THANK YOU ELANGOVAN!!!

Using Win10 with Symantec v14.  Have noticed this started with v12, in 2013.

I'm thanking Elangovan in mid 2017, yet still no fix from either Symantec or Microsoft...

After ripping my hair out, I am just glad I came across this...

If Step 1 of the instructions is "Open properties of NIC adapter," you probably should tell someone how to do that.

In my case faced this problem on Win8, due to the TEST CERTIFICATE not installed in proper store. In that case SEP installation will succeed but 'Firewall driver is not loaded'.

But this solution resolves when SEP has 'Firewall driver is not loaded' issue.

My Windows 7 laptop also suffer this same problem with 12.1.2015 RU2

nevermind.....after much toil, i was able to uninstall SEP which automatically fixed the network issue and reinstalling fixed the original issue (i.e. firewall driver not loaded message).

Jul 30, 2013 03:12 PM

tried that and it broke my network card i no longer have network connectivity....i get limited access message. reinstalling network cards have failed and so has uninstalling and reinstalling.

can you please advise me?

Thanks for posting.
