Installing Mobile Management 7.1 (Mobile Management 7.1 - Installation)

  1. Download the Symantec Installation Manager(SIM) from Symantec.
    1. With your web browser, browse to http://www.symantec.com/business/client-management-suite.
    2. Click on the Trialware link on the right side of the page.
    3. Download SIM (Symantec_sim_7_1_XX.exe, about 41MB).
  2. Install SIM.
    1. Installation Path:  E:\Program Files\Altiris\
    2. Click Finish.
      1. Automatically lauch Symantec Installation Manager should be ticked already.
    3. When SIM runs click on Filter By: Product and choose None.
    4. Under Available products put a check beside Symantec Mobile Management Solution and click Next.
    5. On the Optional Installations page uncheck the box next to Install Migration Wizard Components for migrating Notification Server data and then click Next.
    6. Accept the End User License Agreement and then click Next.
    7. On the Contact Information Page enter the required information and click Next.
    8. On the EPCI Compliance page answer the questions and click Next.
    9. On the Install Readiness Checklist page:
      1. WCF Activation
        1. Click the Enable WCF Activation link.
        2. On the Enable WCF Activation popup click Yes.
      2. Minimum Requirements:
        1. Microsoft IIS – Click on the Click to automatically install and configure the required IIS role services.
          1. When the popup appears click Yes.
      3. Click on Next.
        1. If a warning pops up click OK.
  3. On the Notification Stmberver configuration page:
    1. Username: domain\administrator
    2. Password: password
    3. Choose to automatically configure SSL.
    4. Click Next.
      1. If a warning pops up click OK.
      2. If a warning pops up click OK.
  4. On the Database configuration page:
    1. SQL Server name: localhost\SQLExpress
    2. Use Windows Authentication
    3. Create new: Symantec_CMDB
    4. Click Next.
      1. If a warning pops up click OK.
  5. Click Begin Install.
  6. When Mobile Device solution is finished installing click Next.
  7. On the Installation Complete page click on Finish.
    1. If you want to immediately access the Symantec Management Console, ensure there is a check beside Launch Symantec Management Console.
