Ø Symantec Endpoint Encryption 8.0 – is a suite made up of both the Full Disk Edition and the Removable Storage Edition.

Ø Symantec Endpoint Encryption 8.0 – Full Disk Edition is the full disk encryption component that encrypts the entire drive and allows access to multiple users and administrators. Its’ pre-boot authentication will make unauthorized access to your data virtually impossible, and Single-sign-on integration with Windows makes it user-friendly.

Ø Symantec Endpoint Encryption 8.0 – Removable Storage Edition is the removable storage component that is designed to protect all data on USB, FireWire, compact flash, iPod, CD, DVDs, and other storage devices and removable media. It encrypts files defined by central policy and on the fly, when copied to removable media. The data may be encrypted by a user’s individual key, group key, or an enterprise wide key, so it can be shared seamlessly and transparently across the respective group.

Great information.

It would be great, though, to have a HCL (hardware compatibility list), to know which brand/models of notebooks are supported to have its hdd fully encrypted.

On version 6 I used to have one of this list, but for last version 8 I am not able to find it.
