Open Add or Remove Programs.
Select Symantec Endpoint Protection, and then click Change.
- Click Next.
- Select Modify, and click Next.
- Click on Next, it will show installed core component, to check which sub-components are installed use the drop down menus next to the individual component.
- There are three core components
i) Virus, Spyware & Basic Download
ii) Proactive Threat Protection (PTP)
III) Network Threat Protection (NTP)
In this example we can see all the sub components are also installed of Virus, Spyware & Basic Download
Proactive Threat Protection (PTP) is also installed with Sub components.

To uninstall NTP, Use the drop down menus next to the individual component & select entire feature will be unavailable.
If we select main core component to uninstall then by default sub-component will also be selected like inheritance rule.
However If core component is installed you can uninstall sub components.
Click on Next
Click on Next, checkmark is 'Optional'
- Click on install check mark is 'optional', after the installation completes, a restart is required to uninstall Network Threat Protection.
Under SEP GUI Network Threat Protection is no more listed.
To accomplish it on multiple computers you can push the custom package using client deployment wizard or with any other method.
If it's unmanaged client then you will have to perform manual steps as suggested above.
