How to enable the Sylink logs on a SEP 11.X or !2. X client, from the registry

Many times for issues with client commuication with SEPM etc ,looking at the sylink log from the client is of great help. Here is a simple way of enabling the sylink.log from registry:

1. Turn on the debugging from the SEP client:

Go to SEP- Help and Support-Troubleshooting.
Click Debug logs on left.
Select Edit Debug log setting, under client maangement
Turn on debugging, and click OK.

2. Add a string value in registry:

Go to Start-Run, and type: regedit, and hit enter.
Go to HKLM/Software/Symantec/Symantec Endpoint Protection/SMC/Sylink/Sylink, and add a string value: DumpSylink
Set it's value to C:\Sylink.log (Note: It could be any location)

3. Stop and start the SMC service.

Go to Start-Run, and type: smc -stop hit enter. Then, go to the services window, and start the Symantec Management client service. (You can also start the service, by  typing smc -start, in start-run, but I prefer this way, as sometimes, the  service is slow to stop, and if we initiate a start command for it, befiore it  stops, then smc may crash, needing a reboot).

4. Wait for a few minutes, to give the client sufficent time to log all the  activity, then go to C:\Sylink.log.

If this log is ready, it would save time with  support on issues, with client communication ETC..
