Asset Management Solution 7.X: How to Track Software by Location

This article will help user to group Installed Software by ‘Location.' This will help user to track software usage count with respect various locations of the organizations. Presently, default reports of Asset and Inventory are not having way to track software by location.

Steps to run:

  1. Clone Installed Software report present at path Reports --- All Reports ---- Reports  --- Discovery and Inventory --- Inventory --- Cross-platform --- Software/Applications --- Installed Software
  2. Give name to clone report as “Installed Software by Location”
  3. Edit the report by Clicking on Edit button
  4. Put the attached query(Installed Software Final Query.txt) into “Parameterized Query”  section of ‘Data Source’
  5. Add ‘Computer’ as a query parameter in the ‘Query parameters’ section (with same values as similar to ‘Computer Name’ query parameter).  
  6. Click on Save Changes.

Hi Abhishek

We have envirnment like this

CMS on separate box and AMS on separate box.

We have setup replication rule on CMS Server on schedule basis.

We required same report from AMS server....... Can you suggest us it is possible or not?

It is possible to drill down report in the same report, then no need to check other report which you saying

Hello,

Thanks for the query. Current report query is not providing this feature that you asked. Need to enhance the query/Report.

Maybe, you can use ‘Inventoried Installs For Software Product’ Report present inside ‘Contract Management’ folder to resolve your query.

I have one question

Can we drill down this report E.g if we drill down on installed count so that we know who is that computer
